There was no detail left undone.  All was purposefully and MASTERFULLY executed.  Each time the surprise is hidden in plain site and in spite of everyone searching, no one detects.  In my mind's eye, I can envision you back in the banquet room after all the guests had gone.  On stage and standing at the podium with an arched eyebrow and a sly smile you do the one last thing left...drop the mic...BOOM!

What can I say? Awesome!! I was SO excited when I saw that the photographs had been placed on the website last night! The pictures capture just a snippet of the awesomeness shared and felt at the luncheon. Upon arrival at the luncheon the atmosphere was welcoming and relaxing and the décor had the true flavor of Trinidad with the elegant table settings and birds of paradise. This was literally a Fantastic Fancy Hat Luncheon–the array of beautiful headwear of all shapes, colors, designs and sizes was truly a millinery delight! Without a doubt, the highlights of the event were the presentation by Shantel (“Marcia Garcia” and the revelation of the author. Jaybee you are one “phenomenal” woman and hostess and your contributions to our lives through this luncheon are a model to the success of women and girls of color in this area. Thank you again for the invitation to this most fashionable social event. It was as always a lovely experience and I enjoyed every single moment!!

Jennie, The event was fabulous, breathtaking, beautiful, classy and elegant. When I walked in the room I was in such a state of AWWW from the Trinni Tea, Birds of Paradise, centerpiece Book, and the personalized silver heart. You left no stone unturned. The actress was over the top! She was excellent, from her monologue to the questions you posed helped us to easily view a little piece of Trinidad. Thank you for hosting such a grand event. I loved the pictures and the blog. I look forward to the daily read of Lauren's blog.

Hi Jennie...thank you for posting the pictures! The photographer did an outstanding job and really captured the essence of the Fancy Hat Luncheon:) I never imagined when I was a little black girl growing up in the south who enjoyed reading  that African American women would enjoy reading to the point of having a convocation of readers...that is what you have done with this event... You have extended the invitation to readers in other locations and the senior women were well represented. You've started something with this event and it has a larger meaning than we know. I imagine that generations from now this event and/or similar events will be held to celebrate the joy and sisterhood that women share in discussing a great read.

I know this is a long message but I just wanted you to know that I understand what it takes to execute an event at this level...you out did yourself and thanks for inviting me:)

This was such an elegant and beautiful event, and  I felt so honored to be amongst so many fabulous women at the 2015 Fancy Hat Literary Luncheon.  From the moment I enterd the ballroom, I was in awe of not only how beautifully decorated the room was, but the beauty of each woman that entered that room with such a warm welcoming.  The book was a great read and visually stimulating, and the discussion was very interesting based on indivudal interpretations.  The presentation of the food was perfect and very fitting for the island theme.  It was delicious   Meeting the author was a thrill, and she was very pleasant.  The skit of Marcia was very entertaining, and we all enjoyed it!    Only a person with class, heart filled with love and a beauty that shines both inside and out could possibly have created this event...Jennie, that was so representative of who you are!  It was wonderful seeing you again and please feel this heartfelt thank you I am sending your way for everything!.
